If you’re planning to visit Savannah in September and are looking for something to do, I’ve come up with a list of some of the top events happening this month.
I tried to include a little something for everyone — whether you prefer outdoor activities, museums, nightlife, concerts, or eating your way through the city.

The Weather, Hurricane Chances, and Flowers Blooming in September
September is hot and humid with a strong chance of hurricanes.
I highly recommend purchasing travel insurance with a “cancel for any reason clause” if you plan on visiting this month.
Expect fairly comfortable temperatures during the morning and evening hours — especially later in the month. However, daytime temps will be hot with “feels like” temps reaching well into the 90s.
Not many flowers bloom during September, but you should see plenty of green (trees, grass, and resurrection fern). Don’t expect fall color until November!

Top Events During September
The biggest event for the month is the Savannah Jazz Festival. It takes place at various venues throughout the city and draws large crowds. Some of the events are free, while others are paid.
The event I’m most looking forward to during September is the Avett Brothers concert! Check out their song, “No Hard Feelings” if you’ve never heard it before.
Organizers may change an event’s location, date, or time on short notice, so please double-check the links before heading out! I’m good about keeping this list updated, but sometimes last-minute changes happen.
