If you’re planning to visit Savannah in January, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding accommodations or getting seated at popular restaurants. It’s a pretty slow month for tourism.
January is also a slow month for major annual events, and it’s when some businesses choose to take breaks for maintenance or so the owners can enjoy time off.
For example, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room and Dottie’s Market both close for the entire month of January.

Savannah’s Weather in January
January is the coldest month of the year, so it brings the best chance of snow in Savannah (although snow is very rare) and below freezing temps.
Plan to pack layers and check your weather app a few days before your trip to see if you’ll need a heavy winter coat or if you can get by with lighter-weight attire.
