Savannah in February: Events, Weather, and More!

If you’re planning to visit Savannah in February, you might luck out and get a good deal on accommodations. February is one of the slower months of the year, so it’s part of “shoulder season.”

Tourism picks up towards the end of the month as the weather warms up and flowers start blooming. There are a couple major events in Savannah during February, so that’s a perk.

Savannah Weather in February

The weather during February can vary greatly, so I highly suggest checking your weather app a few days prior to your trip.

The beginning of the month sees cooler temps, but it’s generally mild by the end of the month. Overall, February is rather dry, and snow is almost unheard of.

The Top Events in February

The most popular events this month are the Savannah Irish Festival, the Savannah Book Festival, and Super Museum Sunday.

The Irish Festival is the earliest of the city’s St. Patrick’s events (which tend to kick into high gear during March), the Savannah Book Festival brings celebrated authors from around the globe to Savannah, and Super Museum Sunday allows free entry into dozens of the top museums in the city.

The Savannah Slithering Lantern Parade at the end of the month is my personal favorite February event!
