Savannah has always had a bit of a party reputation, so it should come as no surprise that are plenty of ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the city!
Here are a few favorites…

Enjoy a Dinner Out with Friends
A few of my favorite restaurants in Savannah are offering special prix fixe menus for New Year’s Eve. You absolutely can’t go wrong dining at any of these locations.
Brochu’s Family Tradition | Starland District
This is the option that excites me the most for NYE!
Chef Andrew Brochu will be highlighting some of the most popular dishes from the Michelin-star rated (and James Beard-nominated) restaurant he ran in Chicago.
He left it to start Brochu’s Family Tradition here in Savannah, but — for one night only — 50 lucky guests get to experience the magic that was Roister.
The multi-course, family-style tasting menu starts at $250 per person.
Common Thread | Historic District
Common Thread is one of my favorite Starland District restaurants, and they’re offering a five-course meal to ring in 2025. Choices include raw scallop, potato pave, Carolina crab rice, Georgia beef, chocolate pavlova, and more!
Dinner starts at $183 per guest, with an optional wine pairing for an additional fee.
Fleeting | Eastern Wharf
Fleeting is offering family style starters followed by four courses. Options include a butternut squash soup, foie gras torchon, crispy pork belly, truffle-studded chicken breast, bone-in braised short rib, and many more.
Dinner starts at $145 per guest, with four premium add-on options.
Flora and Fauna | Starland District
Flora and Fauna’s NYE Supper Club begins with family style starters followed by a three-course meal. Options include potato gnocchi, citrus salad, redfish, pork schnitzel, Carolina gold rice, and more.
Dinner starts at $110 per guest and includes an optional wine pairing for an additional fee.
Head Down to River Street
River Street is always one of the city’s top entertainment zones, and New Year’s Eve is no exception.
NYE Riverfront Fireworks Show
The biggest crowds gather along River Street to watch the fireworks, which start at midnight and run for 10 minutes straight.
The fireworks originate from a barge near the Savannah Convention Center, so the central section of River Street has the best vantage point. You can also see them from the Plant Riverside District and Eastern Wharf.
Prefer to enjoy the show from your hotel room? There are plenty of hotels on River Street.
Celebrate on the Water
If you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve out on the water, you can do that on one of Savannah’s famous riverboat cruises.
- New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruise – This 2-hour family friendly cruise includes a buffet and live entertainment. It departs at 5:30 p.m. and returns at 7:30 p.m.
- New Year’s Eve Gala Cruise – Formal cocktail attire is encouraged at this event, which includes a plated surf and turf dinner, champagne, and a 3-hour cruise on the river. The cruise departs at 9:30 p.m. and returns at 12:30 a.m.
- New Year’s Eve Party Cruise – This 3-hour cruise includes a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and fun party favors. It departs at 9:30 pm. and returns at 12:30 a.m.
Enjoy Fireworks from a Rooftop Bar
There are dozens of rooftop bars in Savannah, so I’ll just list a few of the most popular options within each section of the city.
- Electric Moon | Plant Riverside District: This high-energy spot is known for it’s rooftop slide. They’re hosting a “Time Warp” dance party celebrating songs from the 1970s to the 2000s.
- Bar Julian | Eastern Wharf: This classic bar offers one of the highest vantage points along the waterfront.
- Peregrin at Perry Lane | Historic District: Bar Julian overlooks the Historic Savannah Theatre and Chippewa Square.
- The Grove | City Market: City Market is one of the city’s biggest nightlife zones, so this is another high energy spot.
If you’re afraid of heights and prefer to stay grounded instead, head to the Starland District to enjoy drinks at Sobremesa, Late Air Wine Bar, Smol, or Lone Wolf Lounge.
